Privacy policy
Voice Factory TTS ("the Service") is used without an account and does not ask for personal information such as your name or contact details. It does handle the minimum needed to run, as set out below.
1. What is handled, and why

Beyond this, the ordinary access logs a web server keeps (time of access, requested address, browser information and so on) may remain, for operations and security.
2. Visit statistics
The Service tallies visitor numbers and usage on this server itself. Nothing is sent to an outside analytics company.
- A random identifier is created per browser and kept in a cookie and browser storage for up to a year; the server stores only an irreversible hash of it.
- Referral information is recorded only down to the domain; search terms and full addresses are not stored.
- The text you enter and the contents of the audio you make are never sent to the visit statistics.
- Visits by search-engine robots are excluded from the visitor count.
- If your browser sends a GPC (Global Privacy Control) or Do Not Track signal, nothing is collected. You can turn it off or on at any time under "Visit-statistics settings" near the foot of the page; turning it off also deletes the stored identifier.
3. Information sent outside
To synthesise speech, the Service sends the text you enter to Google's speech-synthesis servers (it may switch automatically to Microsoft's servers if Google is unavailable). The text sent is used only to produce the audio, and the Service provides information to third parties for no other purpose. Do not enter personal or sensitive information.
4. Information kept only on your device
The text you are drafting, the voice and settings you last chose, your pronunciation-fix list and your light/dark preference are stored only in your browser's storage and are not sent to the server. You can clear them at any time with your browser's "delete site data" function.
5. Advertising and cookies
The Service may display Google AdSense advertising to cover running costs.
- Third-party advertising vendors, including Google, may use cookies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites.
- Google may use advertising cookies to serve personalised ads based on your visit history.
- You can turn off personalised advertising at Google Ads Settings, and opt out of other vendors' personalised-advertising cookies at aboutads.info.
6. Your rights
- You can delete your result files at any time with the delete button in the list or "Delete all".
- Clearing your browser's cookies and site data removes the identifier and all settings. Files you made earlier will then no longer be visible.
- Because the Service does not identify users by name or contact details, you can remove your information by the means above without any separate access or correction procedure.
7. Users under 14
The Service does not collect age information. Guardians are asked to make sure children do not enter personal information.
